Below is a list of questions we get asked regularly, if you can’t find the answer you're looking for or want some more information then just ask us on the Contact Page.
Can I get my wheelchair in?
Yes! The Venue is fully accessible and has several areas where you can park a wheelchair and socialise with your friends. You can even get right down on the dance floor to show off your moves!
Is there strobe lighting?
We don’t use strobe lighting at The Venue but there are flashing lights, (just like any nightclub) None of the lighting should affect people with mild photo epilepsy, however those with more severe cases should take caution.
Do you use smoke?
We do occasionally use smoke to enhance the night however our smoke machines use a water based fluid so do not make you cough or affect anyone with asthma. You're safe in our hands!
Is it safe?
Only people with disabilities and there carers are allowed into The Venue on Swirl nights. Please be aware although we have a team of volunteers on hand to help out, that Swirl is an unsupervised activity and should you need support please come with a carer. That's why carers go free at all our events.
Is the music really loud?
Whilst the music is at a raised level, you can still communicate and talk over it. The sound is no where near as loud as at a standard nightclub. (We play better music as well!) The music is loudest when your on the dance floor the seating areas and Bars remain quieter!
Are the drinks expensive?
The Venues prices are inline with standard pub prices, visit there website to download a pricelist. Look out for special deals as well!
I smoke, is there anywhere to go?
The Venue has a special exit (Seperate to the entrance) for those wishing to smoke, it also has a lovely view of the football pitch!)
What are the toilets like?
The toilets are kept in a clean condition and checked throughout the evening. There are accessible cubicles in the standard toilets and a separate accessible toilet. You need a radar key to get in here, but if you haven't got one just ask at the bar.
